Persistent pain can affect how you move, exercise, work, and enjoy daily life. Evergreen Factor offers SoftWave® Tissue Regeneration Therapy (TRT), a non-invasive shockwave treatment for people seeking support for muscle, tendon, joint, and connective-tissue concerns.
SoftWave uses broad-focused, electrohydraulic shockwaves to reach a wider treatment area than many superficial pressure-wave devices. These carefully delivered pulses interact with tissue and stimulate biological responses associated with connective-tissue activation, local circulation, tissue remodeling, and temporary pain relief.
SoftWave is a form of extracorporeal shockwave therapy, commonly called ESWT. “Extracorporeal” means the therapeutic energy is generated outside the body and delivered through the skin.
Unlike radial devices that primarily deliver pressure near the surface, SoftWave distributes true shockwaves broadly through the treatment area. This allows the practitioner to address both superficial and deeper tissue without needles, injections, medication, or anesthesia.
A coupling gel is applied to the skin, and a trained team member moves the SoftWave applicator across the targeted area. Broad-focused shockwaves travel into the tissue, creating mechanical signals that initiate a localized biological response. You may feel tapping, pressure, or focused tenderness as the practitioner identifies and works across the affected tissue. Settings can be adjusted for comfort.
SoftWave uses acoustic energy to engage the body’s natural regenerative response, supporting circulation, cellular signaling, angiogenesis, growth-factor activity, inflammatory balance, and resident repair cells. Because it works with your body’s existing tissue, the entire process is non-invasive and requires no injections or added biological substances.

SoftWave is more than a passing wellness trend. The technology is supported by over 20 years of U.S. clinical use, multiple FDA 510(k) clearances, and a research library containing more than 240 peer-reviewed publications.
Research explores how shockwave energy may influence connective-tissue activation, cellular signaling, local circulation, angiogenesis, tissue remodeling, and temporary pain relief. Clinical studies have also evaluated extracorporeal shockwave therapy for concerns such as plantar fasciitis, calcific shoulder tendinopathy, muscle discomfort, and other musculoskeletal conditions.

Dr. Tomas Gigena MD first introduced SoftWave therapy in his integrative wellness clinic, True Health DPC, in Silverton in 2020. He brought the technology to Evergreen Factor as a core treatment offering when the Lake Oswego center opened in 2022.
With nearly 30 years of experience in integrative medicine, Dr. Tomas medically reviews Evergreen Factor’s SoftWave protocols and develops treatment plans based on each client’s history, concerns, and goals. Trained team members follow these established protocols when providing treatment.

SoftWave is a specific form of extracorporeal shockwave therapy. It uses electrohydraulic technology and a patented reflector to distribute broad-focused shockwaves across a wider treatment area than traditional radial pressure-wave devices. It is a non-invasive, non-surgical, non-pharma option
“FDA-cleared” is the correct term. SoftWave technology has FDA 510(k) clearances that include connective-tissue activation, temporary improvement in local circulation, temporary relief of minor muscle aches and pains, and specific wound and burn indications. Evergreen Factor focuses primarily on musculoskeletal and connective-tissue applications.
No injections or biological materials are used. SoftWave delivers acoustic shockwaves that stimulate a response within the body’s existing tissue. Research is examining how this signaling may influence resident repair cells and growth-factor activity.
Recent cortisone or corticosteroid injections in or near the planned treatment area may temporarily delay SoftWave therapy. Please provide the type, location, and date of your injection before scheduling. Dr. Tomas will review this information and determine when you may safely begin treatment under Evergreen Factor’s protocol.
Most clients describe tapping, pulsing, or pressure against the skin. Tender areas may feel more sensitive during treatment, and the intensity can be adjusted based on your comfort.
Treatment time depends on the area and protocol, but most SoftWave appointments are relatively brief. Typically the appointment is 15-30 minutes and the treatment session is 3-10 minutes. Allow additional time for your first visit and consultation.
The number of sessions depends on the treatment area, how long the concern has been present, and your response to treatment. Dr. Tomas will recommend an individualized plan rather than a one-size-fits-all series.
Most clients return to normal daily activities following treatment. Temporary tenderness may occur, and your team will provide guidance based on the area treated and your planned activities.
